I’m glad you’re here. My wife, Katie LaPierre, and I have eleven children, whom we homeschool. Through Eternally Minded Mamas, Katie shares biblical encouragement for mothers, devotionals, and resources for homeschooling families. Since 2010, I’ve served as the senior pastor of Woodland Christian Church in Woodland, Washington.

Through preaching, writing, and speaking, my desire is to help people understand God’s Word, see their need for Christ, and put biblical truth into practice.

Before becoming a pastor, I served as an Army officer and then taught elementary school while coaching football and wrestling. During my second year of teaching, my brother died of a drug overdose. Soon afterward, I became a Christian. That loss is part of my testimony of God’s work in my life.

As I studied Scripture, my desire to teach God’s Word grew. I began serving as a part-time youth pastor at Grace Baptist Church in California and later became a full-time associate pastor. In 2010, our family moved to Washington for me to pastor Woodland Christian Church.

My teaching centers on explaining Scripture in its context and helping people apply it. You can read, watch, or listen to my teaching, or read our statement of faith.

Katie is my best friend and partner in ministry. We grew up in McArthur, a small town in the mountains of northern California, and attended high school together. We remained friends, then reconnected ten years after graduation. By that time, we had both become Christians. We married in 2005.

We have been blessed with eleven children: Rhea, Ricky, Johnny, Charis, Chloe, Noah, Ruby, Lydia, George, Hudson, and Penelope. Family life gives us daily opportunities to practice the truths we teach—and daily reminders of our dependence on God’s grace.

Katie serves our church through hospitality and ministry to women. Through Eternally Minded Mamas, she also encourages mothers in their faith, families, and homeschooling. We enjoy traveling together for conferences and serving alongside our children. Learn about inviting me to speak at your church or event.

Writing became a large part of my life when I started pastoring. I write out my sermons and work through them with Katie, refining the explanations and applications before I preach. Those sermon manuscripts become the foundation for my books.

My books address marriage, finances, work and rest, contentment, endurance through trials, and the ways Scripture points us to Christ. They grow out of studying the Bible and shepherding people in the local church.

I began as a self-published author, later worked with Harvest House Publishers, and subsequently regained rights to several titles and republished them through Charis Publishing. This site brings together my books and teaching under Scott LaPierre Ministries.
